What Do You Mean by "Static Pages"?

Static pages are just plain HTML, Javascript, and CSS. There is no Content Management System (CMS) or database to deliver dynamic content. Changes and updates require editing the code directly.

When Will My Site Go Live?

It depends on your project, specific needs, and how quickly you can provide the material or information I need. However, the average trade website can take 2-4 weeks.

Do I Own My Website?

No. Fawks Software Consulting LLC will retain all copyrights, excluding any material you provide, to the website and will host the website on our servers.

Do You Put Your Name on My Website?

No. The way I look at it, you are paying for my services and not to advertise my services on your website; you don't pay a plumber, and they put their name on your house for advertisement. All I require is permission to put your website in my portfolio.

Can You Make an E-Commerce or Membership Site?

Contact me to discuss this project. An e-commerce or membership site is outside the scope of a basic trade website, and I will need to understand the full scope of work and what you're trying to build.

Can My Website Integrate With Any Other Services?

It depends on the service. Feel free to contact me with the service you're interested in, and I'll do some research to see if it is possible.

Can I Manage the Website Content?

No. Edits require a knowledge of Hugo, HTML, Javascript, CSS, and Markdown to make edits. I don't find trade websites needing to make too many edits, so I include on-demand edits priced per my hourly rate or a monthly retainer.

How Much Input Do I Have?

A lot. I'm designing for your brand, and I want you to love it! I greatly value your input, feedback, and approval at every stage.

Is My Site Backed Up?

Yes. Your website code is hosted on GitHub, which will keep track of all the changes and will provide a free backup of all the code.

How Do I Pay?

All invoices can be paid online with a debit or credit card.

For a lump sum project, I require a non-refundable down payment before starting the project, and I divide the rest into two milestones: Design and Development. The remaining amount is due upon the final review of the website before launch and domain pointing.

You'll be billed monthly or yearly for a subscription plan and the hosting addon. You can cancel anytime with advanced notice before your next billing period.

Do You Offer a Discount for Paying Yearly Rather Than Monthly?

Yes. Get two months for free!

What Is Included in Content Updates?

Content updates typically include changes to existing text or media. For example, content updates could include, but are not limited to:

  • Editing or revising text (copy)
  • Adding or removing media
  • Adding, removing, or editing services
  • Modifying pricing or business hours
  • Updating contact information or address details

Content updates don't include, but are not limited to, design work, copywriting, SEO, publishing new blog posts, integrations, or adding features, which would require a separate discussion and billing.

What Is Included in Your Guarantee?

I take the time to learn about your business and if you have any ideas or concepts you would like to see. I will design a website based on your brand. If I miss the mark and you don't love the design, I will do another design for free based on your input.

What Is Included in the 90 Day Warranty?

Before I publish your website, I will run some tests to ensure the website looks great and works on the latest devices and browsers. However, if I missed something, then I will fix it for free during that time. The warranty only covers fixing bugs and issues.

If you need any content updates, that will require a different discussion and billing if you selected the Lump Sum plan; bug fixes and content updates are included in the subscription plan.
